Truck Drivers are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of equipment, including but not limited to 50-ton Haul Truck, 745 Haul Truck, Articulated Truck, Rigid Truck, Dump Truck, Articulated Water Tanker. This project is located in Northern New Mexico. Essential Job Accountabilities include safely and efficiently operating equipment within its capabilities and limitations to haul and dump material in designated areas; performing safety, routine, pre-, and post-inspections of equipment pursuant to Granite’s guidelines and manufacturer’s specifications; operating and maintaining the equipment in accordance with Granite and manufacturer’s standards; assisting the team with other operation support tasks when not operating equipment; possibly operating other heavy equipment such as motor grader, track and rubber tire dozers, dump truck, water truck; possibly training and mentoring other equipment operators; and performing other duties as required. Candidates must have five or more years of experience operating heavy equipment (745 Haul Trucks, Articulated Trucks, Rigid Trucks, Water Tanker Trucks). Knowledge of MSHA regulations is preferred. The role requires the ability to work various shifts including day, swing, and night shifts, sometimes extended hours, and to work in all weather conditions and safety-sensitive construction settings. Physical demands include dexterity, stamina, hand-eye coordination, ability to lift heavy items, and work in awkward positions or confined spaces.
