POSITION SUMMARY This position provides clinical support to Bone and Joint Institute of Tennessee by setting patient appointments, maintaining records and providing customer service.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS Formal Education / Training:
High School diploma
Workplace Experience:
One year medical office experience and ability to communicate well
Equipment and Skills Training:
Competent in the use of computers, printers, facsimile machines, copy machines, business phones, document scanners and other office equipment and supplies.
Physical Environment:
Office environment.
Physical Effort:
Must be able to sit, stand, communicate in English, both verbally and in written form, squat, reach overhead, operate a computer/keyboard and heard instruction as appropriate.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS - Schedules appointments appropriately in Allscripts and Meditech
- Maintains current patient information
- Provides clerical support
- Provides patients with info on HIPPA and insures compliance
- Maintains patient records
- Insures patients are informed of changes in office policies
- Scans patient paperwork/records
- Collaborates with appropriate health care team members to help coordinate the delivery of patient care in a timely manner.
- Consistently verifies patient insurance information
- Follows scheduling instructions
- Consistently verifies insurance for eligibility and pre-certification, if needed
- Maintains open line of communication with all staff
