STILL LIFE STYLIST

LOCATION: 75 Varick Street NYC

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full Time

DEPARTMENT: Creative

REPORTS TO: Executive Creative Director/ Associate Creative Director

POSITION SUMMARY

The Still Life Stylist is part of Splashlight’s Creative Engine. The ideal candidate will work in partnership with teams of Photographers, Art Directors, and Production coordinators, to ensure that the highest quality images are produced; and the images created are on-brand and reflect the elevated standards expected of a Studio team member. Your primary responsibilities and tasks will support Splashlight’s core corporate goals: Implementing Business Operating Systems, Strengthening Market Position and Growing Revenue.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS

• Style e-commerce, editorial and still life content with a keen eye for color, texture, lighting, composition and shape, developing elevated imagery while meeting high productivity in a fast-paced environment
• Partner with clients, internal art directors, photographers and producers on projects and styling direction across brands
• Collaborate with Art Directors and photographers to create visually exciting assets in line with brand guidelines
• Collaborate with and support photographers and art directors to evolve a brand’s styling direction
• Guide freelance stylists and assistants to ensure brand guidelines are followed and styling meets brand standards and productivity
• Partner with freelance stylists and assistant stylists to ensure that all merchandise is represented accurately and on set productivity is met
• Maintain Style Guides and implement updates as needed
• Partner with Creative team to identify efficiencies; propose and implement workflow improvements
• Maintain styling supplies, props, orders and inventory 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, & SKILLS 

• 7+ years on set still life styling for Ecomm, Editorial, still and video
• Expertise styling a wide range of products including jewelry, soft goods, apparel, and accessories; fragrance and cosmetics
• A strong portfolio with examples of editorial, pdp and pin-up styling 
• Deep understanding of trends in fashion, art, photography, design and culture
• A meticulous eye for detail and visual composition with a high level of taste
• Ability to execute visual solutions on set that support brand aesthetic
• Knowledge of commercial studio workflow
• Strong communicator with ability to articulate creative ideas and collaborate within a team environment 
• Excellent time management skills and able to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously under tight deadlines
• Problem solver who can identify challenges and develop actionable solutions
• Client facing experience 
• Ability to work independently with demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment
• Some Capture One knowledge is advantageous
