Position Title: Software/Applications Architect/Developer/Engineer

Description: Candidate will work closely with a diverse client project team responsible for architecting, building, maintaining, deploying, and/or administering mission software and web applications distributed across multiple networks that collect, process, store, search, visualize, or deliver unique mission data. These functions will be applied to specific client IT programs or across a large enterprise of federated programs developed by different organizations. The development environment is fast-paced, spans the full application stack, and increasingly leverages agile development methodologies, Dev(Sec)Ops tools and processes, and an expanding cloud-based infrastructure. Depending on current team needs, responsibilities may include: identify and document system scope and objectives; design, code, test, debug, and document new programs; prepare detailed specifications; contribute to development of security authorization documentation; represent program in design reviews and demonstrations; and mentor junior developers.

Qualifications:

• Clearance: Positions require U.S. Citizenship and active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph
• Degree: Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a closely-related Engineering or IT discipline
• Certifications: None required
• Experience: Minimum 7 years (with minimum 3 years in the IC) developing, securing, integrating, deploying, maintaining, and evaluating software and systems

Knowledge/Skills/Expertise: Our clients have very complex environments often requiring demonstrated experience in multiple programming languages, layers of the application stack, and modern integration techniques. We are seeking candidates experienced in one or more of the following areas representative of our clients IT environments:

• Architecting and leading the development and integration of complex and secure information systems
• Directing and assisting software/system engineers in the application of system engineering principles to secure systems design problems
• Full application stack systems analysis and software/application development life cycle based on modern agile development practices
• Object-oriented programming development concepts and design patterns
• Programming Languages: Java, Javascript, Python, C/C++, JSON, PHP, Perl, SQL, Scala, Groovy, Ruby, Pig/Hive, Elixir, XML
• Frameworks: Angular, React, ExtJS, Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate
• Architectural Styles: REST, Microservices, Service Oriented, Event Driven
• Cloud: Amazon Web Services (e.g., Commercial and Government Cloud Services for DoD and IC, EMR w/Spark and RDS, EC2, EBS, S3, Route 53, RDS, VPC, ELB, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, CloudTrail, Blue Green deployment, Auto scaling, Trusted Advisor, Identity & Access Management, Simple Notation Service, Billing Console), Microsoft Azure
• Containers: Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Ansible, Nexus, Software defined networking
• Data Ingestion/ETL: Spark, Nifi, Kafka, Flink, ActiveMQ, Pentaho, machine translation, language identification
• Databases/Indexing/Analytics: PostgreSQL, RDS, Microsoft Access, Oracle 10g/11g, MqSQL/Workbench, MongoDB, Hbase, Cassandra, MapReduce, Lucene, ElasticSearch, Spark, Latent Semantic Indexing
• Security Integration: Auto scaling, Anti-virus, Identity and access management software (Centrify), Auditing/logging, VPC Flow Logs, Continuous Risk Evaluation, Trusted Advisor, STS, LDAP, Active Directory, Non-standard person entities (NSPEs) including non-person entities (NPEs) and non-standard entities (NSEs), X.509 Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) certificates
• Authentication: LDAP, Oauth, AWS STS, Active Directory
• Infrastructure: AWS/C2S, proxies between stacks, encrypted data, Cisco Cloud Center, Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS), Cisco ACI Fabric, OpenStack, Vormetric, F5 Big-IP, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, CloudTrail
• DevOps/DevSecOps: Chef, Puppet, Jenkins, Ansible, GitHub, GitLab, BitBucket, Docker, CloudFormation, ANT); development-related tooling such as IDE, build, source control, and test applications (e.g., Eclipse, IntelliJ); and test-driven-development methodologies
