What We Are Looking For:

We are looking for an experienced Real Estate Law Clerk, for a full-time, permanent position, to join our dynamic and growing firm in servicing our financial institution clients. The successful candidate should have strong knowledge of the real estate transaction process for residential matters, within the context of a power of sale.

The ideal candidate must possess excellent organizational talent along with the ability to multi-task and prioritize. This is a good position for someone who is detailed oriented, a self-starter with excellent technical skills and has the ability to work both within a team and independent environment. The successful candidate must also have a solid working knowledge of title searching, conveyancing, and work extensively with Teraview. A great attitude and emphasis on client experience are essential. Experience and interest in real estate, mortgage financing, and mortgage enforcement, is preferred however we are willing to train the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct all property and execution searches required for the preparation of the Notice of Sale Under Mortgage and Notice of Intention to Enforce Security;
• Request, obtain and review all mortgage related documents; including discharge statements, Standard Charge Terms; mortgage commitments; etc…
• Preparation of all related documents for the Notice of Sale Under Mortgage; Notice of Assignment of Mortgage; and, Notice of Intention to Enforce Security;
• Review title searches and oversee off-title searches;
• Attend to making copies and serving appropriate notice documents in accordance with the Mortgages Act ;
• Deal directly with clients, financial institutions, municipalities, land registry offices and title insurance companies
• Assist generally with all matters relating to our real estate practice
• Produce the highest quality of work
• Accountable for all work assigned

Requirements:

• Minimum 5-7 years previous experience as a Real Estate Law Clerk
• Strong knowledge of the power of sale process for residential matters
• Successful completion of a related post-secondary education program in a law clerk program
• Proficiency with Unity, LDD, Conveyancer and Teraview is required
