Summary:

LaPlume and Sons Printing, Inc., is looking to add a full or part-time offset pressman/press operator to our team located in Lawrence, Massachusetts. We are looking for an experienced operator and team-player to process large format offset printing jobs up to 40” wide. The ideal candidate will have experience on both Heidelberg SORSZ 40” 2-color press and AB Dick 9985 2-color press. This is a part-time position with flexible hours and the ability to pick up additional hours when needed. It may transition to full time if desire/need is there. The position has the opportunity to extend to fulltime in the future based upon performance and need.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Effectively set up and operate offset press(es) to produce printed pieces within the specifications of our customers and quality control ensuring good quality workmanship within registration, color targets, and consistency.
• Perform continual maintenance and cleaning on the press to ensure it is continually in good working and clean condition ready to accept the next job. Our pressman treat their presses as “their offices” and are expected to keep them clean and operational.
• Be willing to jump in and help out in other areas as needed if we experience a lull in presswork such as finishing or mailing (no experience required in these areas).

Requirements:

• Experience on either (preferably both) Heidelberg SORSZ 40” 2-color press and AB Dick 9985 2-color press.
• Understanding of the offset printing process including press setup and operation, chemistry balance, press maintenance and wash-up, ink/color mixing, etc.
• Team player and effective communicator.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Lift and carry at least 50lbs.
