Position: Full-Time

Shift: 2nd Shift 4:20pm-2:50am Monday-Thursday

Job Description:

As a Weld Technician 1, you will play a crucial role in setting up and operating welding machines, producing and inspecting products, and ensuring adherence to quality standards. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety will help us maintain high production and quality standards while minimizing waste and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate welding machines in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for production jobs.
• Produce, stamp, fabricate, assemble, weld, and finish products using various machines and equipment, including welding robots, ensuring compliance with production and quality standards.
• Inspect products for adherence to SOPs, ensuring correct documentation and zero defects.
• Exercise responsible judgment by escalating issues related to defective parts, misalignment, and minor handling damage.
• Avoid extensive rework by containing defective components and ceasing production until resolution is provided by quality and production departments.

Job Specific Competencies:

• Proficiency in mathematical calculations and use of inspection and measurement instruments.
• Experience with manual MIG welder operation and set-up, spot welder operation (if applicable).
• Robotic Welder Operation preferred
• Forklift and crane experience preferred.
• Knowledge of basic quality control, control of nonconforming material, and deviation processes.
• Familiarity with blueprints, lean manufacturing methodologies, and basic metallurgy.
• Understanding of SOPs, standard work, and hazardous communications programs.

Experience and Education Required:

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1-3 years of experience in a welding or related field.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products.
• Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
