Supervise warehouse personnel and other staff in support of the safe and efficient operation of the warehouse. This first line manager directs associates to achieve accurate receiving and placement of product in the warehouse and is responsible for the day-to-day management of personnel.
Responsibilities
Responsible for associate development through training and education on policies and procedures
Foster a work environment that encourages open communication
Monitors a variety of operational information to ensure employees are following preferred methods of operation
Responsible for continuous coaching and counseling of employees
Responsible for regular safety and operational inspections and proper reporting of safety hazards and concerns
Accountable for the proper maintenance and physical condition of the warehouse and equipment
Analyzes expenses and costs of current operations and makes recommendations for improvement
Coordinates with management team to identify sources of shrinkage and assists with action plan development
Prepares various reports and forms such as accident reports, inventory reports, inspection reports, absence reports, repair orders, safety recommendations, and equipment maintenance or replacement requests
Qualifications
REQUIRED
Minimum of 3 years experience in a warehouse environment
Familiar with inventory control, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements
Broad knowledge of warehouse operations, methods, and procedures
Excellent Customer Service skills
Outstanding Verbal & Written Communication Skills
Ability to multi-task with minimal errors
Must be a team player and work well under minimal supervision
Knowledge of safe work practices
Ability to work in hot and cold conditions and in all types of weather
Experience with a material handling equipment (i.e., hand truck, dolly, pallet jack)
Must be able to lift up to 175 lbs.
PREFERRED
High School Diploma or GED
Previous management experience
Previous food service, beverage, or distribution experience
Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
