This\nposition will support the East Valley Region, primarily in the Santa Clarita\nImaging Center. The East Valley Region is currently comprised of UCLA Health\nSanta Clarita Imaging Center, UCLA Health Porter Ranch Primary & Specialty\nCare, UCLA Health North Hollywood Imaging Center and UCLA Health MPTF Toluca\nLake Primary Care. This position participates in on-call, holiday, and weekend\nschedules, prepared by the manager, that supports one of the medical centers in\nthe UCLA Health system. Additionally, participation in rotating shifts is\nrequired, as needed.

In this role, you will:

 

  • •        \nProvide\nage-appropriate assessment and interventions in order to meet the needs of\npatients and families served
  • •        \nObtain,\nevaluate and use information from the patient requisition, medical records, referring\nphysician and correlate with acquired images
  • •        \nUse\ncognitive sonographic skills, to identify and differentiate anatomy and\npathology
  • •        \nUse\nindependent judgement to produce diagnostic images of human anatomy utilizing\ndiagnostic ultrasound systems for our referring providers and our interpreting\nphysicians
  • •        \nExtend\ncourtesy to our patients, family members, visitors and co-workers through our\n“World Class Practices” Service Standards

Internal candidates will be placed\naccording to their Active/Current career ladder level.

Staff Sonographer:

  • •        \nOne\nto two years experience within the hospital / acute care setting
  • •        \nMust\nmaintain active RDMS certification in one specialty, i.e. Abdomen or OB-GYN
  • •        \nGraduate\nof CAAHAP accredited ultrasound program is strongly preferred
  • •        \nSalary\nRange: $58.74 - $77.50 Hourly

Senior Sonographer (Advancement into\nSenior Sonographer job classification will be assessed after 6 months with UCLA\nHealth):

  • •        \nMinimum\nof four years of prior experience within the hospital / acute care\nsetting 
  • •        \nMust\nmaintain Active RDMS certification in three specialties: Abdomen, OB-GYN and\nRVT
  • •        \nProficient\nin Abdomen, OB/Gyn, Pediatric and Vascular Sonography.  Additionally,\nproficiency in interventional procedures
  • •        \nGraduate\nof CAAHAP accredited ultrasound school is strongly preferred
  • •        \nSalary\nRange: $65.55 - $79.93 Hourly

 

Salary Range (Staff through Senior): $58.74\n- $79.93 Hourly

Staff Ultrasound Technologist

  • At least 1 year of acute care (hospital) experience – required
  • \n
  • RDMS credential in one specialty (Abdomen or OBGYN) – required
  • \n
  • Experience in Breast Ultrasound Imaging – strongly preferred
  • \n
\n

Senior Ultrasound Technologist

\n
    \n
  • 4 years of prior acute care (hospital) experience – required (Advancement into Senior job classification will be assessed after 6 months with UCLA Health)
  • \n
  • RDMS credential in Abdomen, OBGYN and RVT – required
  • \n
\n

General Requirements

\n
    \n
  • BLS/CPR Certificate - required
  • \n
  • Graduate of CAAHAP ultrasound program – strongly preferred 
  • \n
  • AAS or higher in Medical Sonography – preferred
  • \n
  • RDMS (AB or OBGYN) – minimum requirement
  • \n
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, visitors, physicians, nurses, staff and others in a professional and courteous manner
  • \n
  • Ability to accept and carry out oral and written instructions accurately
  • \n
  • Ability to employ independent decision making, prioritize work, while handling multiple tasks to completion within allotted time
  • \n
  • Ability to show attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness
  • \n
  • Basic typing skills to input various data into RIS and HIS Information systems. 
  • \n
  • Knowledge of medical terminology with the ability to distinguish between types of procedures within the assigned department(s) and medical diagnoses
