Job Description

Dematic is in search of a SVP Technology and Solutions. This role is a key leadership stakeholder in Dematic's success in the marketplace. Purpose of this role is to drive a consistent technology strategy that provides market differentiation which is key to warehouse automation. Also looks beyond warehouse automation (i.e. WMS) and creates new market, new customers and higher margins. Scale up Dematic's technology capabilities, resources and talent. Tighten the interfaces between solution development, execution, life cycle services and R&D.


The leader in this role will be required to work with a matrix cross-functional regional and global team to deliver on company business objectives. What we offer:
  • Lead the global technology and solutions organization, which includes Software R&D, Systems R&D, Product Information & Training, Standard Solutions, Robotics COE, and dotted line CTO Prod Dev SCS.
  • Development of a Software R&D organization which shapes and drives Dematic's overarching software strategies, providing a focal point for software knowledge management.
  • Develop a global technology team focused on software and technology standards, including sub-system certification which ensures processes and procedures are consistent, effective, compliant, and efficient and that the organization is meeting business, customer, community, partner and quality objectives.
  • Partner with Business Operations (P&L) teams to understand and provide focus on technology developments required to solve customer challenges.
  • Improve the alignment of Development teams (Software, Systems, Mechatronics) and Delivery/Execution teams improving collaboration through the project lifecycle.
  • Develop technology expertise through identifying, sharing and capturing techniques (practices, strategies, principles) that can be used for the continuous improvement of processes by developing guidance and monitoring, measuring and tracking improvements.
  • Foster an inclusive working environment, where you lead by example and concretely support wellbeing of your team members.
  • Effectively build a culture that fosters teamwork and cooperation, across the region and with global functions and COEs.
  • Drive systems and processes to help scale the business in alignment with the capabilities of the organization from delivery standpoint.

Candidate Profile
  • 15+ years of related experience and prior experience in an executive leadership role.
  • Advance degree, or equivalent, and relevant direct work experience required
  • A demonstrated career of strong software development, application development, digital transformation, project management or project engineering experience.
  • Strong technical skills and/or comfort with software and technology concepts
  • Exceptional customer focus and ability to deliver results
  • Proven strong leadership and coaching skills, and the ability to capitalize on and apply these skills to create highly productive and highly engaged teams
  • Holistic and strategic thinker - can establish and drive end-to-end strategies and initiatives encompassing multiple functions, for short, medium and long term
  • Must demonstrate strategic discernment and ability to navigate strategic challenges.
  • High personal impact and high communication skills
  • Ability to navigate, influence and operate in a strongly matrixed global organization
  • Experience in managing and growing a large-scale business with significant revenue.

  • Existing experience and knowledge of the material handling industry, supply chain design, or material handling is a plus.
  • Be willing to travel approximately 40%
