Overview AEC Workforce Strategy & Career Consultant is currently hiring for a Senior Traffic Engineer to join their Fairfax, Virginia operations. The role involves leveraging transportation engineering expertise to plan, design, and build inclusive communities that are safer, less car-dependent, and more equitable. Our client is a boutique multimodal transportation engineering and planning firm with more than 40 years of experience. Responsibilities Oversee the completion of transportation and traffic studies, parking studies, parking signal designs, speed studies, traffic control plans, transportation modeling, and transportation demand management (TDM) plans for projects of various scales. Oversee analyses using Vistro, Sidra, Synchro, and SimTraffic. Guide the completion of Transportation Analysis Studies and Transportation Demand Management Plans (TDMs). Analyze data to recommend transportation system improvements or projects based on economic, population, land-use, or traffic factors. Create presence and leadership in transportation & traffic services through involvement in civic, political, professional, and business organizations. Attend and prepare for meetings and hearings as a transportation design expert. Ensure effective communication and coordination strategies on assigned projects between external project participants. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent in relevant work experience. 4+ years of experience. Expertise in training others in transportation planning and documentation. Licensed Professional Engineer and PTOE preferred. Passion for collaboration throughout the development and execution of projects.
