Job Description
The Senior Motion Graphics Designer is responsible for leading, conceptualizing, designing, developing, building and delivering high quality, on brand graphics and motion graphics for AJ+’s creative/marketing video and design initiatives. This position plays a crucial role in the visual design formula, creation process and staying ahead of the curve with current trends. Solving information on design challenges and adding clarity to AJ+'s Creative output and provide leadership, support, train and counsel creative team members.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Help to create and manage the branding with guidance from Head of Graphics.
Lead collaboration among other creative team members, initiating brainstorming sessions and generating creative concepts to elevate the quality of the motion graphic animation and styling in AJ+’s video products.
Shape the details of motion projects by providing cutting edge techniques and technologies.
Take ownership of and execute projects, outlining the initial creative vision, creating storyboards, and executing design concepts.
Champion the value of great design within the team, and across the company, challenging perceptions in order to raise standards.
Create high impact graphics and compose 2D and 3D animation used for final production.
Create storyboards, development and communication of creative solutions and application of ideas.
Create and expand ideas from concept into actual brand graphic packages.
Produce high quality motion graphics/branding designs.
Lead/Collaborate with other team members on major projects.
Lead/Participate actively in brainstorms, contributing to new ideas and developments.
Conceptualize/Brainstorm on projects/deliverables based on the creative brief or assignment/task with the Head of Graphics.
Train Motion Designers in production best practices.
Enhance the delivery of output across AJ+.
Effective team working skills, experience of working alone or in a team, maintaining good working relationships with colleagues.
Work on different projects simultaneously.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Remain up to date on the latest developments in the field and be involved with design organizations.
Assist other department sections in execution of graphic and related creative materials at peak times.
Participate in taking the design direction of AJ+ forward with a key emphasis on stream based output.
Field design and setup of interactive solutions for special coverage. Supervise other staff upon request.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree qualification in Visual Communication, Graphics Design, Motion Graphics, Multimedia etc.
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in the relevant field.
Must have a solid proof of Motion Graphics Design.
SKILLS:
Excellent time management skills and the ability to work well under tight deadlines.
Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Fundamental understanding of entire production process and strong post-production skills.
Mastery of After Effects, Premiere, Illustrator, Photoshop.
Illustration a plus.
Experience using Cinema 4D is a plus.
Knowledge of 2D and 3D.
Good sense of composition, musical timing and pacing is required.
Quick learner with a desire to improve and an ability to take constructive criticism.
Proven skills in creativity, problem-solving, attention to detail, and priority setting.
Strong communicator with visual, verbal, pitch and writing skills.
Able to thrive in a fast-paced collaborative environment and take direction from Management.
