Workforce Genetics is seeking an Associate Scientist to work with an innovative company in Rockville, MD. If you are looking for an opportunity to work on drug discovery programs related to neurological disorders. This opportunity supports early discovery efforts using molecular biology and protein biochemistry methods. The successful candidate will use a variety of cellular, molecular biology, and biochemical methods in support of drug discovery programs.

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver cutting-edge research in neurological disorders to support drug discovery programs
• Cell culture, including iPSCs, and cell-based assays
• Perform biochemical assays such as Western Blotting, Immunocytochemistry, ELISA
• Prepare and submit samples, analyze and report the data, and maintain safe and efficient lab operations
• Assist in the design and execution of a variety of lab experiments per program needs

Experience and Qualifications:

• Degree and lab research experience in cell and molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, neurobiology, or related fields. Additional relevant experience for over two years with a Bachelor's degree or one year with a Master's degree
• Proficiency in basic laboratory techniques such as pipetting, centrifugation, and basic microscopy is required
• Experience with biochemical assays such as Western Blotting, Immunocytochemistry, ELISA, and cellular assays is required
• Experience working with in vivo research models is preferred
• Neuroscience-related training or research experience
• Conceptual and practical experience in neurodegenerative diseases
• Pharma / Biotech experience.
