An opportunity exists for a dedicated candidate to support a K-12 school environment in Tularosa, NM. This full-time position for the 2025-2026 school year entails working closely with a special education caseload of approximately 176 students, focusing on fostering their social and emotional development.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or higher.
• Valid state licensure or certification in social work.
• Experience working with K-12 students, particularly in a special education setting.
• Preferred background in supporting Native American students.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with educators, parents, and other professionals.
• Cultural competency and sensitivity.

Location: Tularosa, NM

Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling to students, addressing a range of social, emotional, and behavioral issues.
• Collaborate with special education team members to develop and implement individualized social work plans.
• Conduct assessments to understand student needs and monitor progress.
• Facilitate crisis intervention and provide support during challenging situations.
• Engage with families to promote students well-being and academic success.
• Organize and lead workshops for parents and staff on social-emotional learning.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student interactions and progress.
