Sales Development Representative (SDR)

BuildPass (SaaS | Construction Tech)

Full-time

In-Person / Hybrid Opportunities | Austin, TX, United States

About BuildPass

At BuildPass, we’re building the world’s smartest operating system for construction to drive safer, more efficient job sites. AI is at the core of our mission to digitize one of the world’s largest and least tech-enabled industries. After raising a US$5M Seed in 2024, we’re growing ~10% month over month and have moved into our first U.S. presence in Austin.

Our team comes from diverse backgrounds and skill sets. We don't expect you to have stepped onto a construction site. What matters most is curiosity, ambition, and a bias for action.

About the Role

As a Sales Development Representative , you'll be on the front lines of our growth, identifying and qualifying the customers who will help us build the future of construction technology.

This isn't about hitting quotas in isolation. This is about joining a founding go-to-market team that's defining how we sell, who we sell to, and building the muscle memory for a generational company. The BuildPass team comes from diverse backgrounds – industry knowledge can be taught. We care more about your ambition to learn and desire to join a high-performing team than your familiarity with hard hats.

Fresh graduate? That's okay. We'll teach you how to sell. What we can't teach is hunger, curiosity, and the drive to be great.

What You'll Do

  • Own outbound prospecting – cold calls, emails, LinkedIn, and creative outreach to generate qualified pipeline for the sales team

  • Identify and qualify leads through strategic discovery conversations, understanding customer pain points and business needs

  • Master the BuildPass story – articulate how our platform solves real problems for builders, subcontractors, and construction teams

  • Collaborate closely with Account Executives to book high-quality meetings and build a robust, predictable pipeline

  • Maintain meticulous CRM hygiene, tracking every interaction and managing prospects across the full funnel

  • Stay ahead of industry trends, product developments, and competitive intel to fuel smarter conversations

  • Partner with marketing on campaigns and events that drive pipeline opportunities

  • Consistently exceed monthly activity, meeting, and qualified opportunity targets

What You'll Bring to the Team

  • Must be based in, or willing to relocate to, Austin, TX . This is a predominantly in-person role.

  • You may have 1–3 years of experience in sales development, business development, or lead generation (SaaS or B2B preferred) – or you're a fresh graduate with exceptional drive and coachability

  • You're a natural communicator – written and verbal – and comfortable (or willing to get comfortable) engaging decision-makers at all levels

  • You're resilient, self-motivated, and thrive in high-activity, high-accountability environments

  • You learn fast and can quickly articulate the value of complex technologies

  • You're proficient (or can quickly become proficient) with CRM tools like HubSpot or Salesforce

  • You have strong organizational skills and can juggle multiple priorities without dropping the ball

  • Bonus : Experience in construction tech or selling to other blue-collar industries

  • Bonus : Demonstrated track record of hitting or exceeding outbound pipeline generation goals

Most importantly: You're competitive, coachable, and want to be exceptional at what you do.

Compensation & Rewards

We reward performance - not participation. Our commission model is transparent, merit-based, and built to ensure the best performers are the highest earners.

  • 💰 Uncapped commission — no ceiling on what you can earn

  • 📈 Performance-based ranking — your commission rate scales with your results

  • 🏆 Top performers win big — the higher you rank, the greater your multiplier

  • 🔍 Fair and transparent — everyone knows where they stand and how to grow

Why BuildPass

Construction is transforming - and BuildPass is leading that change. You’ll gain first-hand exposure to how a startup scales globally and how AI is reshaping the way construction operates.

We also offer:

  • 🏖 20 days PTO (aligned with Australian standards)

  • 💸 Equity potential through our Employee Share Option Plan (ESOP)

  • 🩺 Comprehensive health insurance

  • 🏋️ Health & wellness reimbursement for fitness or wellness apps

  • ☕ Central Austin office — free parking, great cafés nearby, and a proper espresso machine

  • 🍽 Team culture — quarterly celebrations, team lunches, and offsites

  • 🚀 High visibility with leadership and opportunities for rapid growth
