Location: Roanoke, VA
Type: Temp/Contract (13 Weeks, Potential Temp-to-Hire)
Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:30 AM 5:00 PM
Start Date: ASAP (1.52 weeks after offer)
Key Responsibilities:
Process prescriptions and resolve insurance rejections
Package and label medications for pharmacist verification
Perform data entry and manage prescription paperwork
Communicate with patients, providers, and prescribers
Maintain accurate inventory through cycle counts and restocking
Assist with medication returns, quarantines, and destruction
Cross-train across pharmacy functions to support team needs
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and insurance regulations
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED
PTCB certification and Virginia pharmacy technician license in good standing
Minimum 2 years of pharmacy technician experience (retail required; call center a plus)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort making phone calls
Strong multitasking, organizational, and communication skills
