Overview

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Washington.

Under direct supervision, performs work and administrative duties specific to a department or program.

Responsibilities

  • Sends information to patients as directed
  • Routes medical records and compiles chart
  • Requests and receives diagnostic films and pathology slides as directed
  • Performs Intake Liaison duties as needed. This includes, but not limited to, routing and delivering medical records and other information to the clinics
  • Provides telephone coverage for Fred Hutch Reception on a limited basis

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Under direct supervision, ability to use initiative and sound judgment in carrying out responsibilities
  • Ability to communicate verbally in person, on the phone, and in writing in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to use a mouse, navigate computer programs, enter data into computer systems in accurately and efficiently
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, complex healthcare environment
  • Ability to establish professional relationships with patients, families, staff and providers

Preferred:

  • Demonstrated customer service skills

The hourly pay range for this position is from $21.15 to $30.11 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center offers employees access to a retirement savings plan, an employee assistance program, paid sick leave (1 hour for every 30 hours worked), and prorated paid holidays (up to 11 days per year).
