Job Summary and Qualifications

• You will complete pre-operative assessments and interprets data to formalize an individual plan of care for surgical patients.
• As a member of the Operating Room/Surgical team, you will demonstrates competency in circulating cases, be competent in utilizing principles of aseptic technique and administer medications and solutions in the OR.
• Some other key job duties include maintaining accurate documentation to ensure accountability and accurate precise charging and demonstrates flexibility to perform other functions within Surgical Services to assist in the smooth operation of the department.
• You will also be providing support for new staff and students through mentoring and orientation.

What qualifications you will need:

• Current licensure as an RN in the state of Virginia or RN compact state license required.
• Graduate of an accredited RN program, BSN preferred
• Minimum one year experience as a Perioperative RN or completion of a Perioperative Nurse Course required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
• CNOR certification preferred.
