Job Description

KNSS Radio, Wichitas #1 Talk, is looking for a part-time news person to fill-in and anchor newscasts approximately 12 weeks out of the year. This position is not set regular hours but instead the employee is called in when one of our other newscasters is taking a day off. This is an entry-level position that can grow over time based on the persons abilities.

Location - Wichita, Kansas

What You'll Do:

• Employee will have the opportunity to expand into other areas of our broadcast including studio operating shows/play-by-play games
• Gather information and conduct interviews, then, take complex information and turn it into easy to understand copy under deadline
• You will operate a wide range of technical equipment including running an audio board and digital recording and playback

Required & Preferred:

• Experience in covering and reporting broadcast news
• Radio broadcast experience is ideal
• Being a listener of KNSS Radio is important
• Ability to interpret and simplify complex copy
• Comfort with audio editing
• Ability to write, post and share content digitally
• Can easily work with computer software programs.
• Other duties as required by Management
