Job Summary

Key duties include troubleshooting and fixing air compressors and pumps, conducting compliance testing, and ensuring all systems meet safety and regulatory standards. This role requires strong technical skills with tools and electrical systems, excellent customer service, and the ability to document work and maintain client relationships. 

General Accountabilities

Core responsibilities
Maintenance and Repair: 
Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on medical gas and vacuum systems, including pumps and air compressors.
Testing and Compliance: 
Conduct compliance testing, certification, and inspections to ensure all systems meet ASSE and NFPA standards.
Installation and Modification: 
Install, modify, and calibrate medical gas equipment and associated devices as needed.
Troubleshooting: 
Diagnose and resolve issues with equipment, including control panels and electronics, and report any unusual situations.
Safety Compliance: 
Follow all safety regulations and ensure a safe and reliable environment for patients and staff. 

Additional duties
Sales Support: May be required to assist with sales by identifying leads and passing them to the sales team.
Environmental Monitoring: Some roles may expand to include environmental testing, such as operating room monitoring and air quality testing.
Record Keeping: Utilize systems for job scheduling, tracking, and time reporting. 

Job Qualifications

Required skills and qualifications
Certification: ASSE 6040 certification is often required or preferred, indicating specific training and expertise in medical gas systems maintenance.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in using hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment. Experience with electrical systems up to 460V is also needed.
Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems.
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of all inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with clients in a professional manner.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift at least 40 pounds, work flexible hours, and travel as necessary to different healthcare facilities.
