About the Role:

Lineman - Telecom plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of telecommunication services. This position involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of overhead fiber optic cables, for FTTH. The Lineman will work closely with a team to troubleshoot issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance of communication networks. Safety is a top priority, and the Lineman will adhere to all safety protocols while working at heights and in various weather conditions. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to enhancing customer satisfaction and supporting the growth of telecommunication infrastructure.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a lineman apprenticeship program or equivalent on-the-job training.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate company vehicles.
  • Have the ability to operate a aerial bucket truck.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience working with fiber optic cables and related equipment.
  • Certification in CPR and first aid.
  • Knowledge of local and federal regulations related to telecommunications.
  • Have the ability to work well with others.
  • Proficient in the use of Lineman tools and equipment.
  • Ability to read construction prints
  • Proficient in the use of telecom construction equipment. (Aerial Lifts, Lashers, Plows, etc.)
  • Have the ability to climb poles.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen, background, and motor vehicle record check.
  • the ability to work safely, with or without supervision;
  • the ability to work standing, at shoulder height and overhead, for extended periods;
  • the ability to lift and manipulate lasher and other cable placement equipment;
  • excellent manual dexterity;
  • the ability to follow instructions and communicate verbally and in writing;

Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair telecommunication lines and equipment, using the strand and lash method or self support fiber.
  • Conduct regular inspections of telecommunication infrastructure to identify and resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and restore service outages efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards while performing all tasks.
  • Document work performed and maintain accurate records of repairs and installations.
