Job Summary

The HR Assistant II provides comprehensive administrative and operational support to the Human Resources department. Responsibilities include employee onboarding, records management, benefits administration assistance, HRIS data entry, and coordination of employee relations activities. The role works independently on routine assignments and collaborates with HR staff on more complex projects to ensure efficient delivery of HR services.

Essential Functions


  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits and procedures.
  • Process new?hire paperwork, maintain employee records and ensure accuracy in HRIS and personnel files.
  • Assist in the administration of benefits programs (enrollments, changes, terminations).
  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes, including orientation scheduling and exit documentation.
  • Prepare and process employment changes such as promotions, transfers and salary adjustments.
  • Support recruitment activities by posting job openings, screening applications and coordinating interviews.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and company policies.
  • Generate standard and customized HR reports; assist in audits and compliance reviews.
  • Support HR initiatives such as employee engagement activities, training logistics and performance review cycles.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Demonstrate strong employee?relations skills, fostering positive workplace relationships and resolving conflicts effectively.
  • Support planning and coordination of employee social events across multiple facilities.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to meet business needs.


Position Qualifications

Experience and Skills
  • Working knowledge of HR principles, practices and employment law.
  • High proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
  • Knowledge of Costpoint (ERP) and Concur (travel and expenses) is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast?paced environment.


Education
  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
  • 24 years of HR administrative experience; corporate or government experience preferred.
