Position Summary The Graphic Designer is responsible for the design, creative direction, and production of publications, printed materials, promotional items, display graphics, presentations, videos, and interactive communications. This role supports the City’s communication and marketing efforts across all channels. Responsibilities Represent the creative and design services of the Community Enhancement Department in project planning meetings alongside other marketing team members. Develop and implement major publication projects. Collaborate with the Community Enhancement Department and other team members to design components for promotional programs, initiatives, and trade shows, including display graphics, promotional items, collateral materials, and interactive media. Prepare periodic newsletters and monitor all print and electronic communications for brand consistency. Support staff to ensure quality and consistency in communications. Assist in compiling marketing plan materials. Design, coordinate, and produce high-quality publications and materials supporting the City’s goals and initiatives. Assist in the maintenance and development of the City’s websites, including high-quality interactive presentations using computer and video technologies. Design print advertisements for newspapers, magazines, and other publications. Promote the City’s work by submitting programs to local, national, and international award programs. Manage projects within budget and coordinate printing and production with vendors. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Broad knowledge of graphic design, marketing, and related fields. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. The City of Yukon supports apprenticeships and provides training opportunities. Education and Experience College degree in marketing, graphic design, or related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years’ experience with advanced design and desktop publishing skills in PC and MAC environments preferred. Knowledge of printing processes is preferred. Software Skills Advanced: Adobe Creative Cloud, Presentation/PowerPoint, Other Intermediate: Word Processing/Typing Basic: Alphanumeric Data Entry, Payroll Systems, Spreadsheet Additional Information Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screening.
