Automotive General Manager Must be dedicated to creating an environment focused on achievement through positive coaching and consistent training of team members. Only those willing to lead by example and servant leadership need apply.
Candidate must be an Active General Manager.
SUMMARY The General Manager ensures profitability of the dealership by overseeing the various departments which include variable operations (sales & financing), and fixed operations (service parts) Works closely with business office (accounting and administration) which report directly to the Divisional VP and field Controller. Duties of the general manager include, but certainly not limited to, planning, motivating and coordinating the dealerships management through leadership and solid business processes. Ensuring all policies and processes as established by the Open Road Auto Group..
Team Leadership - Actively participate in recruiting and hiring process for all positions; ensure performance reviews or coaching session are completed; development of short and long term goals for each department coach (including sales, service, and parts).
- Actively follow-up on performance development plans.
- Create a positive atmosphere though positive attitude and moral.
- Participate in development and execution of compensation plans.
- Explaining the policies and procedures to dealership employees and following up to ensure these policies are understood and followed.
- Submitting annual and monthly forecast to platform manager.
- Participate in completion the monthly financial statement to ensure it is complete and accurate subject to corporate accounting guidelines.
- Effectively managing the business to ensure forecasts and budgets are met.
- Reviewing daily operations; recommending and creating improved process where needed subject to established corporate policies and procedures.
- Effectively communicating with the comptroller/office manager as needed.
- Create a good working relationship with lenders, manufacturers, and vendors.
- Coordinating weekly meetings with departmental coaches to review progress in profitability and efficacy.
- Work with department coaches, Divisional Vice President and Human Resource Vice President to address customer and employee concerns in a timely manner.

- General manger should have at least 3 years of automotive management experience.
- Must have strong leadership and organizational skills, and the ability to read and understand manufacturer statements and objectives and Financial Statements
- Must be able to communicate with employees and customer in a positive and uplifting manner.
- General Manager must stay abreast of state, federal and local regulations effecting dealership operations.
