Would you like to join the map-makers and school facility inventory planners of 200 public schools in beautiful San Diego, California?
Responsibilities
As a Facilities Planner for San Diego Unified School District your day to day work will include analyzing and reporting on how schools are using the facility inventory of 10,000 educational spaces on 179 campuses. You'll get to know scores of educational program types offered and make annual records of the types of spaces they are using in elementary, middle, and high school facilities.
You'll also determine how many students are included in census population estimates, how many enroll in their nearest school, then study and report on how many enroll outside their neighborhood.
Other project assignments will include attendance boundaries (zone management), understanding school construction plans, community and neighborhood planning, safe routes to school, California Department of Education (CDE) specifications, and database management in Microsoft Access.
You'll be in good company as a 3-person team of urban planning professionals in support of 114,000 public school students.
