Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Member of facility’s leadership team providing strategic direction for site’s environmental, health & Safety (EHS) programs.
• Oversee systems to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local rules regarding environmental and safety regulations.
• Manage and direct teams in the implementation of the company’s EHS management system.
• Provide strategic leadership regarding programs that include behavior-based safety, crisis management, etc.
• Facilitate attainment of EHS objectives through leadership and KPI performance.
• Provide tools for personnel to identify hazardous practices and develop hazard control programs.
• Assist in accident investigations and assure timely follow-up.
• Work with production personnel to develop accident prevention plans.
• Manage EHS personnel and assist in prioritizing job activities.
• Lead and support company’s safety committees.
• Coordinate the development of safety training and oversee maintenance of documentation and records.
• Manage wastewater treatment plant and work with maintenance and engineering teams to ensure treatment and discharge requirements are met.

REQUIREMENTS

• Four-year college degree in environmental, occupational safety, industrial hygiene, safety management or related science field.
• Minimum of five years health, safety and environmental management experience in a manufacturing environment.
