_Summary:_

The Registered Nurse (RN) assesses, implements or delegates, plans, and
evaluates total nursing care and functions in accordance with established
philosophy, providing and directing patient care for a group of patients. The
Registered Nurse (RN) relates effectively with other shiftsdepartments for
optimal continuity of care. The Registered Nurse (RN) provides clinical
supervision for entry level nurses and assists in their development.

The CVORGen Surg RN will service both general surgery and CV surgical lines.
This nurse will work with all the service lines that we support at Westover
Hills. Although this position supports general surgery the primary will be
cardiovascular based on patient census and scheduling. This position is full
time, includes on-call, and is heavily involved with the CV team. This
position will work closely with the cardiovascular surgeons, and
cardiovascular committee, and supply chain to ensure high performance and
patient assessment.

CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - Westover Hills (CSRH-WH) is a 150-bed hospital
serving the fastest growing area of San Antonio. Specialized care includes
orthopedic and surgical services, ICU, women’s services, a newborn nursery,
comprehensive cardiovascular care from diagnostics to open heart surgery,
vascular lab, sleep center, emergency services, the CHRISTUS Weight Loss
Institute, wound care, rehabilitation, and more. The campus also boasts an
Outpatient Imaging Center and three medical plazas, one of which houses our
CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency Program and CHRISTUS Santa Rosa
Family Health Center.

_Requirements:_

* Registered Nurse (RN) with valid Texas license.
* BLS certification required
* ACLS certification highly desiredrecommended.
* Current specialty certification as required.
* Must have working knowledge of the nursing process as well as in depth knowledge of therapeutic, physical, psychosocial, spiritual, cultural, and developmental needs for a select category of patients.
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

_Work Type:_

Full Time Weekends
