Position Summary: We are looking for a Part-Time Bookkeeper. We prefer to have someone in person, we can come into the office at least a few days a week if at all possible. If we find the right fit, virtual bookkeeper is also an option, as long as you are a resident in Texas. 15-30 hours a week depending on how many clients we have available for you to take on and how many hours you want to work. We are hiring because we are growing so fast! We need an experienced bookkeeper to handle our increased growth. This role is crucial in managing our financial records, ensuring accuracy, and supporting the financial health of our clients. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple tasks, and dedicated to contributing to the success of our clients and our team.

Objectives:

  • Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  • Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions monthly.
  • Enter bank feeds weekly and correctly code income and expenses.
  • Monthly reporting and closing.
  • Maintain and reconcile ledger accounts.
  • Provide records of assets, liabilities, and other financial transactions.
  • Balance books periodically and prepare profit and loss, income, and balance sheet statements.
  • Maintain receipts and disbursement reports.
  • Process miscellaneous payments, inter-company transfers, checks returned NSF, and unidentified payments.
  • Communicating with clients to get their receipts, statements, and ask questions.
  • Potentially meeting with clients via zoom.
  • Participate in additional projects/activities to support ongoing business needs.

Competencies:

  • Proficient in QuickBooks Online (QBO); QBO certification preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and working knowledge of Outlook.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, including prioritization skills.
  • Ability to establish positive work relationships and effective collaboration skills.
  • Ability to apply good judgment, strong work ethics & integrity on the job.
  • Texas residency required for virtual positions.
  • Willingness to learn and grow professionally.

Education and Experience:

  • Must have taken accounting/bookkeeping classes.
  • 2 years of bookkeeping experience.
  • QBO certification or QBO ProAdvisor preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • The person will be sitting at their desk all day long.
  • It is required to take a 5-10 minute break every 60-90 minutes.
