This person will create project deliverable 3D models and 2D drawings using Autodesk Revit and learn to utilize Thornton Tomasetti’s suite of interoperability tools. The ideal candidate is passionate about BIM and the built environment, enjoys collaborative and iterative processes with design teams, and aims to become a client-facing BIM expert. Responsibilities Produce 3D models aligned with instructions, industry guidelines, and TT standards. Annotate, dimension, and detail 2D drawings per Thornton Tomasetti standards. Manage BIM workflows, including folder organization, sheet sets, geo-location, plots, conversions, and transmittals. Maintain structural BIM/CAD files for design drawings, including cleanup, audits, references, and troubleshooting. Coordinate with engineers and clients on BIM content, model exchanges, quality control, and delivery. Use tools like Navisworks for multidisciplinary project collaboration. Prepare and review project deliverables for client submissions. Create 3D views or renderings for marketing or project purposes as needed. Requirements Degree in Drafting, Technical Communication, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, or related field. Strong graphic, written, and verbal communication skills. Understanding of 3D parametric modeling and integrated building modeling benefits. Knowledge of drawing production, construction techniques, and principles. Experience with AutoCAD, Rhino, Grasshopper, Tekla, and BIM data exchange is preferred. Compensation The hourly rate ranges from $35 to $50, based on location, experience, and qualifications, with specific considerations for California applicants as per state law.
