Job Description

The Behavior Specialist is responsible for conducting Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with patients within Rogers Behavioral Health Residential, Intensive Outpatient (IOP), Partial Hospital (PHP) and Acute Inpatient treatment programs as detailed. Behavior specialists train and work with the assigned Clinical Services Manager to design and implement CBT specific treatment plans for those with Anxiety & OCD Spectrum Disorders, Mood Disorders, Eating Disorders and Trauma-Related Disorders. Job Duties & Responsibilities include providing cognitive behavioral and other therapeutic services including groups to patients according to clinical standards of care and under supervision, participating in supervision sessions, regularly monitoring effectiveness of interventions and making necessary adjustments, documenting mental health services according to regulations and payer expectations, participating in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings, communicating treatment interventions and support needs, offering training support to other direct care team members, providing parent or support person training and education, ensuring patient and facility safety, supporting staffing/scheduling changes as needed, and performing other duties such as maintaining knowledge of department processes and participating in committees. Education & Experience required include a Bachelor’s Degree in human services, psychology, social work, or related field, a valid Substance Abuse Counselor-in-Training credential if working in Addiction Recovery programs, relevant CBT experience preferred, and a current and active driver's license for Residential programs. Required on-the-job training includes compliance with Residential Care Center and Community Based Residential Facility standards, CPR certification, Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training, and other unit-specific trainings.
